Default Make questing worth the effort

Give us some kind of reward that people will actually appreciate rather than a pitiful 250 gold when completing a quest.

Ideas:
  • A random inscription
  • Much more money, like, 1 - 3 plat per quest completed (depending on difficulty)
  • collector's weapons with good stats, like a Vabbian Scimitar, r9 15^50. No additional mods...but at least you'll have a nice sword to either use yourself or give to one of your heroes
  • a random superior rune / insignia
Those are a few suggestions of things that, to me, would make questing worth the extra time it takes to do something you don't have to do in the first place.

I agree. Give better rewards on a per quest basis, rewards on a bulk quest basis determined by ranks of a quest title, and then force players to complete a small number of them. Hopefully the rewards and title opportunity will persuade them to complete the rest.

I agree that rewards could be better. But I don't agree with rewards such as platinum amounts of gold.

Reward weapons could be more useful than they are at present.

Personally I think ANet had it right in prophecies where they gave skills as rewards.

Secondary quests are nearly worthless right now unless you need to build up a little experience. A 1plat reward or random inscription could be fun.

Agreed. For me, there's not a whole lot of incentive to do the quests when you're level twenty. Skill points would definantly be beneficial and great, and what you've suggested - besides the large amounts of money - seem valid.

Yes the buying all skills at 1 plat each is rather hard to achieve when quest rewards are only 250 gp each and such I would much rather have skills as rewards then gold or like

But if skills cost 1k each and we used to get skills as a reward it makes perfect sense to give that back in lieu of actual skills.

'But Bamm, what if people spend that money on something other than skills?'

Good point. It's a strong indication that skills simply cost too much. What if money was taken out of the equation and only skill points (or something else) were used? Skill points could only be gained via quest rewards (not leveling) and all skills cost 1 skill point and no money? After all, the entire reason skills were removed from quests was to allow choice, and if points were offered that could be swapped for skills at a trainer, that choice still remains. Edit: What if a skill trainer accepted 1 skill point OR 1000 gold (remember, skill points from quests only)?

I think Quest Rewards could be made, well, more rewarding. Or, at least, more interesting.

In the newer campaigns, more skills as rewards. Or, perhaps a "blessing" buff that lasts for an hour and won't be dispelled by zoning.

More money...250 gold? It's not like quests are repeatable, so why not be a little more generous?

Not, so much gold, as there is more than enough on the market.....but maybe skill points, or as in Prophecies days.....skills.

You should have to do side quests to unlock skills.

I would love a repeatable quest that gave out a signet of capture. Love as in "hate, but do a thousand and one times".

Great idea. But skill points should remain from leveling... or if not, a new reward should be added.

/signed for the general principle, anyway. With the death of the skill quest after Prophecies there's precious little reason to bother with side quests once you and your heroes have hit level 20.

I think most of the quests are superfluous and are only there for people who enjoy them (people who like the story?).

They can't make them yield significant gold, the entire game is geared to limit the rate you can make the stuff. If you've been playing the game since the start, you know what I'm talking about.

Monsters used to almost always drop an item or gold. Every single one. You go into an area alone, you kill something, it drops something. 95% guarantee. It's been dropped to 50-75% of the time now.

I like the idea of quirky weird items for people who collect item skins, such as the Banananana Scythe. Now if people actually HAD the storage to take up that hobby, well, then that'd be a cool thing to focus on.

Odd PvE-only skills would be interesting too, but they obviously don't want to make them a big part of the game, so people still have to learn to play their class in a shred of a sense that's applicable to PvP.

People have been asking for this for a long time, As it currently stands.

The only reason to quest is to apparently have fun and learn about stuff.
Higher ended quests should have better rewards lower ender quests should have smaller rewards.

Compare the difference in most quest rewards and there is none.
This idea has been mentioned many many many times.

ITEM DROPS ARE NICE, BUT ANET HAVE STATED THEY DO NOT WANT THINGS TO GET REPETIVE.
Well based on this logic you would think they would stop making everything drop based, and maybe mix it up a little.

The Hero skill system is the best reward system they could ever do.

Just add Hero Skill Trainers for all campaigns, and make 'skill quests' give hero skill points instead skills. So, instead of a skill you may already have, they would let you choose for a list of skills in any Hero Skill Trainer. This, f course, won' be applied to profession specific skill quests, those would stay the same (Training quests)

Quest giving normal skill points should stay the same, so people can use them for Capture Signets too.

Most Prophecies quest and rewards should be severely reworked... make prophecies fit the other too campaigns.
Most of the items you receive are just identified and then sold, with 3 or 4 exceptions (out of 50 or 100 ¬¬). Quest reward items should have perfect stats from Lions Arch onward.

I also think that Lions Arch should be the first spot with 8 party slots and level 15 henchmen, and level 20 in the next ones. I mean, make Lions Arch fit the other two Cities, and making the place where people reaches at lvl 15-20, instead of 10...15. They could even make enemies a bit better arround there. Giving level 20 from D'Alessio Seaboard onward.
